Investor Information

Cambridge BioTechnology Ltd (CBT) raised initial financing from founding scientists and consultants in June 2001. This money was used to initiate scientific programmes, secure intellectual property rights and initiate series 'A' financing.

In February 2002 CBT received seed funding from a syndicate of investors (The Cambridge Gateway Fund, Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation, Merlin Biosciences and Avlar Bioventures).

In July 2002 the company raised £6 million in series 'A' financing from a consortium of internationally respected venture capitalists (The Cambridge Gateway Fund, Merlin Biosciences, Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation and Northern Venture Managers Ltd).

In addition to the above investments, CBT have been awarded a Smart Award from the Department of Trade and Industry.
